Digital threats continue to affect Android users. Now the novelty is a new malware that affects instant messaging Apps.
Malware is Trojan type and its purpose is instant messaging applications, where it tracks the victim’s private data. Among the Apps susceptible to this threat, you will find Facebook Messenger, Twitter, Skype and other services just as popular.
Trustlook Labs ‘ Cybersecurity researchers gave this threat that-after modifying the application-it alters the Android file “/system/etc/install-recovery.sh” to allow the malware to run every time the infected App is opened. The information collected is finally allocated to a remote server.
Trustlook Labs is unclear yet how the malware is distributed. At the moment it is known that the threat has been detected in a Chinese application called Cloud Module.
