Razer announced its own router. The company signed an agreement with the manufacturer Ignition Design Labs to launch a version of the Portal router optimized for those who like video games.
Razer has seen the potential of this market not only in those who play online in a casual or competitive way, but also those who are dedicated to streaming content on a regular basis. The company says that having a router that does not give the width, can cause problems such as lag, tearing or annoying buffering.
The Portal will solve this, thanks to the ZeroWait ZWDFS technology to avoid lag when playing or streaming. The router reaches speeds of up to 600 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and 1733 Mbps in 5 GHz, thanks to the fact that it is compatible with AC2400 Wave-2.
Razer ensures that the Portal is highly secure and offers management of it through applications for iOS and Android. Last but not least, the Portal has Mesh 2.0 that allows greater coverage of Wi-Fi in your home. Portal routers are capable of covering up to 550 square meters.
The router will be available during the first quarter of 2018 at a price of USD $ 150.
