Chat: Google’s competition to overthrow Whatsapp

For over a decade Google has been launching various instant messaging apps that fail to meet their goals. Beyond its differences, none could distort the supremacy of Whatsapp and IMessages in the market.

The company has decided to change its focus. Instead of still trying to compete on the same level, it will go to another one: the SMS.

The bet of Google is to develop a technology that replaces them in all the cell phones with Android operating system.

Anil Sabharwal, executive of the company that is in charge of the project, anticipated that he already entered into negotiations with the telephony operators to reach an agreement.

This platform will be called Chat. The base is the RCS system already presented by Google in 2017. Although it would have several modifications to improve it and facilitate communications between users.
