LG partners with Microsoft to accelerate the automotive revolution

LG and Microsoft signed a memorandum of understanding to improve and grow the business of the autonomous information systems and vehicles of LG.

Under the terms of society, LG will accelerate the transformation of its current digital platform for the automotive industry, considered to be the key growth engine for the company, by leveraging the cloud technologies and the Azure Artificial intelligence of Microsoft Along with the future standalone driving software from LG.

LG will apply Microsoft’s knowledge of Artificial intelligence to its Advanced driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), driver-Status Monitoring camera (DSM) and its multi-purpose front-camera products and incorporate the Virtual Assistant Solution Microsoft Accelerator in the information and entertainment systems of LG. In addition, LG plans to build innovative testing and digital development fields that employ state-of-the-art technology. The high-performance computer (HPC) and the Microsoft Azure-compliant graphics processing unit (GPU) will drastically reduce the time required for the LG AI Autonomous driving software to learn and evolve. Traffic patterns and roads in cities that would normally require more than a full day for autonomous driving systems to understand it would only take a few minutes with Azure.

Azure can help AI’s autonomous driving software learn different drivers ‘ patterns, as well as recognize and distinguish between pedestrians and other objects. By incorporating the enhanced AI driving software by Azure into the ADAS, the performance of the DSM and the multi-purpose front camera can be dramatically improved.
