This Tuesday Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 855 as its new flagship chip that will be available on most high-end Android cell phones at 2019.
This new chip offers users improved performance, optimization of artificial intelligence, more optical power consumption and the ability to integrate a 5G compatible modem (Snapdragon X50).
Qualcomm has managed to integrate its processors into more than one billion mobile phones worldwide and the Snapdragon 855 chip, focused on high-cell phones, would surely arrive on devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S10, the LG G8 and the OnePlus 7, among others.
Snapdragon 855 offers best performance in games, with a system baptized Snapdragon Elite Gaming. It also puts the point of view in augmented reality, a field in which Qualcomm seems to keep betting strong, even more with this new generation of its star platform.
On the other hand, one of the most outstanding attractions of Snapdragon 855, is that it is the world’s first commercial mobile processor to support 5G multi-gigabit networks. In addition, Qualcomm has unveiled a new ultrasound-based fingerprint reader technology that promises to work even when the phone screen is dirty, or if there is a protector placed on it.
