Two old well-known brands return to the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona: Nokia, the most anticipated and BlackBerry, which presents a new Android mobile with physical keyboard.
Now in the hands of the Chinese company TCL, BlackBerry bets on the devices that had more success a few years ago, those with analog keys instead of virtual keyboards that are already omnipotent. For the MWC 2017 they have saved the presentation and definitive launch of the BlackBerry Mercury already seen at CES, at the beginning of the year.
In the tweet in which the president of TCL has communicated the news, the definitive date is not provided, although in later RT it is confirmed that it will be on February 25th. Therefore, it will be in Barcelona, the city that organizes one of the biggest technology fairs in the world.
This phone is going to have it difficult as it moves in the midrange. It is the market segment in which there are more devices at a better price, where most Chinese smartphones are competing. The physical keyboard is its main claim; otherwise it is no more than an acceptable mobile.
