After complaints from users of iphone 7 and iphone 7 plus on problems with the microphone of their devices, Apple recognized the existence of the technical flaw and sent to the authorized service providers an internal document with the steps to take in these cases.

After updating their mobiles to iOS 11.3 or later versions of the operating system, some users could not make conventional calls or through FaceTime because their interlocutors did not hear anything and the speaker button was in gray color and disabled.

According to the document released by Apple, the technical staff must ask that customers with this problem disconnect the headphones or any other audio accessory (including Bluetooth) and make a diagnosis. If they detect an error in the system, they have to go to the repair stage.
