Samsung launches new premium QLED TV range

Samsung’s new top of the range QLED TV lineup is now available in Malaysia, promising stunning picture quality and seamless smart TV experience for viewers.

The lineup is made up of three series – Q7, Q8 and Q9 – and they come in either flat or curved panels.

The company claims that the QLED range is the first in the world to be able to reproduce 100% colour volume, where the image quality seen on the TV will be exactly as what the content creator intended.

“We spent a lot of time over the past few years perfecting the TV experience, developing new technology to ensure virtually perfect colour accuracy, superior contrast and an improved viewing angle,” said Samsung Malaysia Electronics head of audio visual Jason Foo.

The TVs sport a 4K Ultra HD resolution with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, which is four times more than a regular full HD display. The HDR (high dynamic range) technology in the QLED TV means it’s able to express HDR 1,500 to 2000, which is equivalent to the brightness of 1,500 to 2,000 candles.

With QLED, users will also be able to enjoy deeper black with less reflection and optimal contrast, no matter how dark or light the surrounding is, according to the company.

For better aesthetics in the living room, the QLED range comes equipped with the new no-gap wall mount, which makes it possible to hang the TV close to the wall.

Messy, protruding cables will no longer be a concern as the TV comes with a single optical cable, designed to look near invisible to blend into the background. That cable then connects to the One Connect Box, which acts as a hub for all your media devices.

For those who dislike mounting their TV on the wall, there are two optional designer stands – the cone-shaped Gravity Stand and the Studio Stand, which resembles a painter’s easel.

Samsung has also solved the age-old dilemma of too many remote controls by introducing the One Remote Control.

It acts as a universal remote for controlling the TV along with other home entertainment devices, such as the Blu-ray player, soundbar and home theatre system.

The Q7 is available in three sizes – 55in (RM12,999), 65in (RM19,999) and 75in (RM35,999) – as flat panels.

There are two models in Q8 series – 65in (RM22,999) and 75in (RM36,999) – and are available as curved panels.

Lastly, the Q9 is the largest among the lot at 88in, priced at RM99,999 with a flat panel display.

The QLED TVs are available and come with a 12-month subscription to streaming service iflix until June 30.
