Produced by the world photography Organization, the Sony World Photography Awards are the world’s most diverse photography competition. The 11th edition had a record of 320.000 records of photographers from over 200 countries and territories, showcasing some of the world’s best contemporary photographs captured over the past year. The international range of entries shows a great diversity of images in terms of gender, style and theme in the four awards competitions: professional, open, youthful and student focus.
In the Professional category, 1 Mexican photographer has been recognized for the great work he showed, which forms between 5 and 10 images, while in the open category, which rewards the best individual image, are 5 Mexicans who have placed among the first 50 Of the world in its ten categories.
Recognizing a wide variety of works, the judges placed the following Mexican photographers: Tania Franco Klein, José María González, Eduardo López Moreno, Alberto Reagie, David Sayeg and Karla Guerrero Trejo.
The work of the preselected photographers will be exhibited at the Sony World Photography Awards 2018 exhibition in London from April 20 to May 6. The winners of the Open competition will be announced on March 20 and the winners of the general and Professional category will be revealed on April 19, 2018.
