Platform for predictive models and prescriptive will have artificial intelligence technology to help the airport to anticipate and to better serve the passengers and airlines Unisys Corporation announced an agreement with the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) – Operator of Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru – to develop a center of excellence in analysis.
This center of excellence will have a business Intelligence platform and advanced data analysis to consolidate and streamline the strategic, tactical and operational reports of BIAL, allowing airport personnel to make business decisions better and faster, process passenger information with more agility and improve customer experience at the airport.
The platform will allow the airport to provide real-time information on services and flights. These services will assure the passengers better orientation and communication at the airport, as well as proactive and personalized trade offers based on the preferences and history of visitor expenses. This will not only guarantee more visibility on airport amenities and services, but also establish a way for BIAL to be able to generate revenue not from aeronautical services.

As part of the new airport data-driven structure, the platform developed by Unisys will allow BIAL to generate more than 150 interactive Business intelligence reports and full of relevant information, using artificial intelligence and Machine learning to predict future travel patterns and trends among passengers. This will allow the airport to abandon its retrospective-based strategy to adopt a prospective, predictive and prescriptive vision and thus improve decision-making processes. Hosted in the Microsoft cloud, the solution uses Azure’s characteristic resources, such as Azure HDInsight, SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Advanced Data Analytics Services.

BIAL is a public-private consortium owned and operated by Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, India’s third busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic. According to BIAL, the annual passenger traffic at the airport must grow from 26,910,000 in the 2018 prosecutor for more than 65 million in the next decade. To meet this growing demand, the airport will win a second track in the year 2019 and open a second terminal up to 2021.
